This session explores how project professionals can build genuine stakeholder alignment within a culture that prizes trust, preparation, and quiet deliberation over vocal debate. Drawing on the concept of “suomalainen tyyli” (the Finnish style), we’ll unpack what consensus really means in a Finnish context, why silence is more often a sign of careful thought than tacit approval, and how “pre-consensus” — the informal groundwork done before a meeting — shapes what happens in the room.
Using a real-world case study of an ERP rollout in a Finnish manufacturing company, you’ll see how re-mapping quiet stakeholders, grounding proposals in data, and creating space for reflection turned early resistance into lasting advocacy. You’ll leave with practical facilitation and communication techniques for engaging stakeholders who show commitment through preparation and follow-through rather than enthusiasm.
